The delegate of the Community Board in Ciudad Real, Carmen Teresa Olmedo, highlighted this morning during the commissioning of the Cariari mill in Campo de Criptana the 870,000 euros that the Government of Castilla-La Mancha is contributing to promote the Villa de Los Molinos as one of the great national tourist attractions.
The representative of the regional government in the province recalled that last December the Government Council approved granting an Industry Email List exceptional subsidy of 190,000 euros to the Cryptán City Council to cover several tourist projects, mainly the improvement of the artistic lighting of the windmills and of the entire complex of Cerro de la Paz, the Sardinero mill and the hermitage of the Virgen de la Paz, one of the oldest religious buildings in the town.
And as Olmedo has pointed out, almost at the same time the agreement was signed between the Secretary of State for Tourism, the Ministry of Economy, Business and Employment of Castilla-La Mancha and the City Council for the execution of the Tourism Sustainability Plan. The Government of Castilla-La Mancha contributes 680,000 euros, half of the cost of the plan, the Secretary of State for Tourism 525,000 and the City Council 155,000 euros.
The document supports investment in actions to promote, adapt and improve the municipality as a tourist destination located in rural areas and foresees the implementation of more than forty interventions articulated in five lines of action that will be executed between now and 2024.The delegate of the Community Board made these statements during the inauguration ceremony of the repairs carried out at the Cariari mill, which have also received help from the regional Executive.
The Cariari is one of the ten mills that remain standing in the mountain range of the same name; It houses thematic content related to cinema and the work of the famous Cryptanian decorator Enrique Alarcón. In 2005 it was equipped with a new rotation axis and blades, but the wind and hail from the imposing storm of August 11, 2021 caused the blades to break. A subsequent inspection revealed that the axle had cracked, making it necessary to replace it as well.
With the nominative subsidy granted by the Presidency of Castilla-La Mancha, it has been possible to undertake these works to replace the shaft and the blades. The new shaft, built from black black pine, is eight meters long and has a diameter of 65 centimeters; The blades are made of pine and measure eight meters long by two meters wide.
The representative of the regional government in the province of Ciudad Real has indicated that the Castilian-La Mancha Executive was “obliged” to cover part of the repair of the Cariari mill, since, “the mills of Campo de Criptana are the image that identifies Spain and Castilla-La Mancha in the world.
In this regard, Carmen Teresa Olmedo has stated that "this land will never be able to pay off its debt to Cervantes, who not only bequeathed us a literary character that transcends La Mancha and Spain, but, without having imagined it, he gave us a universal icon. For all this “the field is standing in the towns and cities of Spain. That is why from Vox we are with them; We will be with them on March 20 at the great demonstration of the agrarian and rural world in Madrid. The rural world is rebelling against the excesses of its government and this reform is an excess, as well as hypocrisy,” concluded Ricardo Chamorro.
